Quality Standards

The information on a LifeKey is obtained directly from your family physician, pharmacy, previous medical records, and hospital visits. The documents contained in the LifeKey are exact scanned duplicates of the medical record, so there is no error in transcription or interpretation. The fact that the records on LifeKey are exact electronic copies of your paper medical records is significant because the records can be relied on by an ER doctor.

Our processes assure that your medical records are accurately displayed on your LifeKey. Below is a brief description of our process:

   Receipt of medical records

Upon receipt of a subscriber’s medical record, a clerk records that the record has been received, in a log book. An email is then sent to the subscriber notifying him that his medical records have been received by Sytec Health and asks if any additional records are forthcoming or if we should finish processing his LifeKey.

   Scan medical records

The paper records are then sent to the scanning department where they are scanned into our system.

   Quality control

The electronic documents then go through a quality control process to make sure that every document was scanned and that the images are clearly visible. The documents go through a process to rotate them to the proper direction, as well as despeckle and deskewing of the images.

Documents are tagged for retrieval and processing

The electronic documents are then tagged using our patent pending software. The software organizes the documents in a format that is recognized by physicians around the world.

Documents are then organized in a patient file folder structure

The electronic images are then organized by our software into a folder structure where they are sorted by document type and date. This makes it easy for a physician to view the entire medical record and quickly find the important information about your health.

   Copied onto LifeKey

The electronic file is then copied onto your LifeKey. It is then checked by quality control to make sure that it is working properly.

   Password protected

If you select to have your medical record password protected, your LifeKey will go through a process that password protects the documents with military strength encryption. The medical file can only be opened using the correct password. With your LifeKey you will receive a plastic ID card to carry in your purse or wallet. On your ID card will be your unique password. If you choose to password protect your LifeKey, nobody can access your records without the password.

If you are unconscious your records can still be accessed by emergency personnel. First responders are trained to look for medical information when they arrive at the scene. They will look for identification and medical information in your purse or your wallet.
They will find your ID card that says EMERGENCY HEALTH INFORMATION in large red letters. On the face of the ID card is this information:

“I have a LifeKey USB flash drive with me that contain all my medical records. Look in my pocket, purse
or on my keychain. Plug it into a computer’s USB port to view my medical records.”

Your LifeKey Will Be Mailed To You

After your medical records are processed onto a LifeKey, you will receive your LifeKey in the mail along with your identification card.

With LifeKey no one can access your medical records without your permission.
