With your LifeKey you will receive a plastic ID card to carry in your purse or wallet. On your ID card will be your unique password. If you choose to password protect your LifeKey, nobody can access your records without the password.
If you are unconscious your records can still be accessed by emergency personnel. First responders are trained to look for medical information when they arrive at the scene. They will look for identification and medical information in your purse or your wallet.
They will find your ID card that says EMERGENCY HEALTH INFORMATION in large red letters. On the face of the ID card is this information:
"I have a LifeKey USB flash drive with me that contain all my medical records. Look in my pocket, purse or on my keychain. Plug it into a computer's USB port to view my medical records."

Health history, allergies, medications, emergency contact information, previous EKG's and lab tests are all available in the first critical minutes of an emergency.
What If You Are Unconscious?
In many emergencies the person is not conscious and there is no one that can provide the ER doctor the patient's medical history.
We know that the first 30 minutes of an emergency are the most critical in treating a patient. In today's medical environment, paper records are the norm. Unfortunately, because we use paper medical records, it is nearly impossible to get the records to the ER doctor in a timely manner.
As a result, life and death decisions are made without full knowledge of a patient's medical history. This can have a significant impact on the plan of treatment and the quality of the recovery.
- With LifeKey, your medical records are immediately available to an ER doctor. They can be accessed from nearly every computer in the world without proprietary software.
- LifeKey is there when no one else is. When time is of the essence, you want to have a LifeKey.
